Addition of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy vs Medical Therapy Alone for Idiopathic Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
Abstract: Importance Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) causes substantial disease burden for both individuals and socioeconomic aspects. The benefit of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in addition to standard medical therapy (MT) for idiopathic SSNHL has been...
Long-term outcomes of interventions for radiation-induced xerostomia: A review.
Xerostomia, or dry mouth, is a significant problem affecting quality of life in patients treated with radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. Strategies for reduction of xerostomia burden vary widely, with options including: sialagogue medications, saliva substitutes, acupuncture, vitamins, hyperbaric oxygen, submandibular gland transfer, and acupuncture or associated treatments. In this review, we sought to evaluate long-term outcomes of patients treated with various interventions for radiation-induced xerostomia. A literature search was performed using the terms “xerostomia” and “radiation” or “radiotherapy”; all prospective clinical trials were evaluated, and only studies that reported 1 year follow up were included.
Oxygen therapy for patients with acute myocardial infarction: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled clinical trials.
Abstract: Oxygen therapy is widely used for patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). However, there is uncertainty about its safety and benefits. The aim of this study is to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the effectiveness and safety...

Thermal imaging and planimetry evaluation of the results of chronic wounds treatment with hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Abstract: One of the methods to treat chronic wounds is the use of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO). Objective measurement of the wound surface is an important element in the process of monitoring and predicting the progress of treatment. The aim of the study was to evaluate...
Surviving Sepsis Campaign guidelines for a diver with DCI: case report.
Abstract: Severe decompression illness (DCI) is an uncommon medical issue affecting divers and results mainly from rapid surfacing using inadequate decompression protocols. Massive gas embolism with central nervous system involvement often leads to a poor prognosis,...
Benefit of hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment in direct traumatic optic neuropathy: case report.
Abstract: Direct traumatic optic neuropathy (TON) is a devastating condition and clinical challenge. Its adequate treatment remains controversial. Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) therapy has been proposed as an adjunctive treatment for eye disease but has rarely been used in...
