Treatment of large, complex, non-healing wounds with cryopreserved amniotic suspension allograft: a case series.
Abstract: Cryopreserved amniotic suspension allograft (CASA) is a regenerative tissue suspension containing amniotic membrane and amniotic fluid components used for soft-tissue repair, replacement, and reconstruction. The aim of this case series is to examine its...
Press-pulse: a novel therapeutic strategy for the metabolic management of cancer.
Abstract: A shift from respiration to fermentation is a common metabolic hallmark of cancer cells. As a result, glucose and glutamine become the prime fuels for driving the dysregulated growth of tumors. The simultaneous occurrence of "Press-Pulse"...
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the treatment of children and youth with autism spectrum disorders: an evidence-based systematic review
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a common disorder that has a complex and heterogeneous etiology. Some evidence suggests that inflammation and oxidative stress may have a pathophysiological link. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) has been proposed as a possible therapy. Because HBOT is an expensive treatment with significant commercial opportunity, it is essential for it to have a research evidence base prior to widespread use. To conduct a systematic review of the literature evaluating the clinical impact of HBOT on behavior and development in ASD with a view to inform practice.
Methods A literature search of electronic scientific databases focusing on clinical outcomes of HBOT in ASD was performed. Articles meeting inclusion criteria were independently assessed by reviewers and were classified according to the American Academy of Neurology Guidelines. Recommendations were made based on the evidence.
Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss: Comparative Study of Different Treatment Modalities.
Abstract: Idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSNHL) is hearing loss of at least 30 dB in at least 3 contiguous frequencies within at least 72 hours. There are many different theories to explain it, and many different modalities are used for its...
Diabetic Foot Ulcers: The Importance of Patient Comorbidity Recognition and Total Contact Casting in Successful Wound Care.
Abstract: Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are a major burden on the health-care system. The purpose of this study is to investigate factors affecting the healing rate of DFU in a university wound care center. Records of DFU patients treated between July 2013 and February...

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in the Treatment of Fontaine Stage IV Thromboangiitis Obliterans.
Abstract: Ischemic wounds unresponsive to standard treatment in thromboangiitis obliterans are associated with amputation, morbidity, and mortality. In this study, hyperbaric oxygen therapy was added to standard treatment of 36 patients with thromboangiitis obliterans...
Ultrasound as a safe and reliable guidance for subarachnoid puncture in rabbits.
Abstract: To evaluate a model for studying the toxicity in nervous tissue and meninges using ultrasound to guide needle insertion into the subarachnoid space of rabbits, with the objective of avoiding injuries triggered by the puncture and by intraneural injection of...
Adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen therapy in severe burns: Experience in Taiwan Formosa Water Park dust explosion disaster.
Abstract: Despite major advances in therapeutic strategies for the management of patients with severe burns, significant morbidity and mortality is observed. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) increases the supply of oxygen to burn areas. The aim of this study was to...
